Additives to metal plating
Electroplated and chemically plated metals have in most cases unsatisfactory tribological properties.
Wear and friction can be significantly reduced by use of nanoparticles additives developed by PlasmaChem.
Additives for silver, gold, nickel, chromium plating were developed.
As an example, the 3-D scratch profiles below illustrate the improvement of wear resistance of
Silver-DiamoSilb® coating (right) in comparison with the standard silver.
